Out at Clapham – Cabaret (50th Anniversary Screening)

Clapham Picturehouse

“Wilkommen, And bienvenue! Welcome!”

Out at Clapham returns in 2022 with a trip to the Cabaret, old chum!

Bob Fosse’s Oscar winning movie adaptation of the 1968 Broadway musical ‘Cabaret’ turns fifty this year and we’re celebrating this masterpiece with an anniversary screening on May 15th at the Clapham Picturehouse.

An iconic, incredibly stylish study of the hedonism and sexual ambiguity of pre-war Berlin, Cabaret was a huge, multi Oscar-winning hit for choreographer and director Bob Fosse in 1972 and made Liza Minnelli (who won Best Actress) a star.

To this day a vibrant and singular musical, with its focus on the dark heart of 30s Berlin centred around a truly fabulous performance from Minnelli as Bowles, evincing both exuberance and vulnerability as she wields glamour against despair.

If you can’t get tickets to the West End revival, come and join us on May 15th (5pm start time) for some divine decadence.

They’ll be drinks in the bar from 4pm and a chance to come and meet other members of the Wandsworth LGBTQ+ Forum.
