London LGBT+ Forums’ Network

Uniting London’s LGBT+ community.

The London LGBT+ Forums’ Network brings together all the existing London LGBTQ+ forums to discuss matters of mutual interest and offer support to individuals or groups. It meets quarterly at City Hall and is sponsored by the Wandsworth and Merton LA member; Leonie Cooper and we are also supported by the Mayor and GLA.

The Forum is a recent initiative (Despite some forums being over 10 years old), it’s first meeting took place at City Hall in September 2017. Since then the group have developed 2 working groups which will be developing a London wide LGBT strategy and create a toolkit for those who want to get a forum up and running in their borough.

The purpose of the Forum is to establish a strong pan London voice on all issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community in London and to influence the Mayor’s and the Assembly’s policies where necessary and appropriate. as for example the Mayor’s recently published “Equality Diversity and Inclusion Strategy”.

To properly reflect the interests of the LGBTQ+ community across Londonwe would like to see the establishment of local Forums in every borough. As of June 2018, boroughs with individuals, established community groups/forums or a registered charity are:

Barking & Dagenham, Bromley, Camden, Croydon, Greenwich, Havering, Hounslow, Kensington & Chelsea, Kingston Upon Thames, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Richmond, Southwark, Wandsworth and Westminster.

If you are from any of the London boroughs and want to know what your area of the capital is doing on LGBT+ matters or socials, please get in touch!
